Overview
Milleen Constructions was engaged to deliver the extensive civil and structural concrete works for Infrabuild’s new Mesh Manufacturing Facility at Newcastle. The $multi-million development strengthens Infrabuild’s local production capacity for reinforcing mesh, with the facility now
ACRS-certified and producing its first mesh sheets in 2025.
Scope of Works
- Delivery of 16,000m² of complex reinforced concrete construction
- Earthworks, excavation, and detailed site preparation
- Heavy-duty industrial slabs designed for high-load mesh manufacturing equipment
- Foundations, plinths, and service trenches to support automated production lines
- Integration of civil works within a live industrial environment, coordinated with ongoing steel operations
Outcome
The project required precision engineering and sequencing to meet tight tolerances and deliver one of the largest industrial concrete packages undertaken in Newcastle in recent years. Milleen Constructions successfully delivered all works to program and specification, providing
the robust foundation for Infrabuild’s new mesh plant. The facility is now operational, certified to Australian standards, and a key contributor to local steel supply.
