Overview
Milleen Constructions was engaged to deliver civil concrete works as part of Infrabuild’s Newcastle East Mill upgrade. The works were critical to the installation of new mill equipment and required careful coordination within a live operating steel plant.
Scope of Works
- Demolition and removal of redundant in-ground structures and foundations
- Excavation and construction of new heavy-duty reinforced concrete pits, pads, and
column foundations - Complex formwork and reinforcement layouts, including circular machine bases and
deep pits - Structural slabs to support new process equipment
- Delivery of works within a constrained and live industrial environment under strict safety
requirements
Outcome
The project demanded precision, sequencing, and robust quality control to integrate new
concrete works into an existing operating mill. Milleen Constructions successfully delivered the package to program and specification, providing durable foundations for Infrabuild’s upgraded mill infrastructure.
