The Transgrid Stockdill Substation has recently been upgraded with nine SmartValve units as part of the $45 million Victoria-New South Wales Interconnector (VNI) upgrade project. These SmartValve units, developed by Smart Wires, are designed to enhance grid efficiency by detecting network congestion and redirecting power flows to less congested lines. This technology helps unlock an additional 120 MW of energy at the Stockdill Substation, contributing to a total of 170 MW of additional capacity from the VNI upgrade.

Milleen Group were contracted by Zinfra to construct the foundations for the Smartwire modules, Gantry Structures & other associated foundations & services.
