Overview

Milleen Constructions was engaged to deliver the civil works for a new fly ash pumping station at Vales Point Power Station. The facility was designed to improve the handling and transport of fly ash, a critical by-product of coal-fired power generation.

Scope of Works
  • Bulk excavation and site shoring with sheet piling
  • Reinforced concrete construction of deep pumping station pits and structural walls
  • Complex formwork and heavy reinforcement installation for high-load structures
  • Integration of embedded pipework and penetrations within the structural concrete
  • Delivery of works in a live power station environment under strict safety and environmental controls
Outcome

The project involved technically demanding concrete works in deep excavations with complex reinforcement requirements. Milleen Constructions successfully delivered the pumping station to program and specification, providing a robust and long-lasting structure to support the ongoing operation of Vales Point Power Station.
